Weave Quarterly is an ongoing subscription series that connects weavers with fiber artists, offering a window into their studio practices through exclusive patterns and curated content. Subscribers will embark on a new project each quarter. Each box includes yarn, a digital pattern, and bonus content from the artist, which may include in-depth exploration of their inspiration and processes, relevant tutorials, or potential coordinating project ideas for using leftover yarn.
In 2025, Mariah Xu will lead us through a series that transforms the flat grid of warp and weft into texture, structure, and dimension. These four projects are a meditation on a different element of tactility—bunching and scrunching, contrasting textures, unexpected visual effects and more, thanks to Mariah's deft combination of fibers and weave structures with varying properties.
Each quarter's pattern will weave a pair of scarves or shawls from the same warp, but differentiated by the treadling to keep you engaged and experimenting. This is a perfect warp-once-weave-twice opportunity.
The Weave Quarterly projects will vary in size, but never exceed 24” in weaving width. Most of the patterns require a 10 or 12 dent reed. You will also need a couple of boat shuttles and a pack of bobbins.
When you sign up, you will be charged $135 + shipping. You will receive the patterns via email, and the corresponding yarn will arrive in the mail. After you sign up, boxes bill quarterly on the 10th of January, April, July, and October. Your quarterly charges will begin on the month listed above after you sign up (please note if you sign up in the first 9 days of a quarterly billing cycle you will be charged at signup and not again until the following billing cycle). Yarn will ship within a few days of your card being charged.
Each box is filled with a generous selection of our in-house yarn lines (Duet, Mallo, Beam, Array, Sero, and Ode). We design our in-house yarn lines especially for weavers from 100% natural fibers. Throughout the course of your subscription, you can expect to receive yarn that is cotton, wool, linen, silk, and alpaca. You will have enough yarn to complete your project, and often have some leftover for future projects.
We charge $11.50 for shipping in the Continental US. For pricing to Alaska, Hawaii, and internationally, just add the box to checkout, click on the cart page, scroll down, and enter your zip code to calculate the shipping.
We sure do! Please note that international customers are responsible to pay for all customs and duties your country charges. We strongly encourage you to find one or a few weaving friends in your home country, and to order all together to save on shipping costs and qualify for flat rate shipping! To do this, choose one person to purchase and pay for the subscription, and have them check out with 2 (or more) subscription boxes at one time.
