Ode is a 4/9 yarn, spun in Peru from 100% baby alpaca. It is dyed in subtle, melange shades that bring depth to your weaving.
Hand wash cool with a gentle soap, and lay flat to dry.
Beautiful to hand and eye. Lovely weaving yarn. Very easy to work with.
I'm in the final stages of an all-Ode blanket scarf & WOW is is it the: softest, strongest, loveliest alpaca ever. No broken warps, even as I'm weaving on all 8 shafts, double width 2/2 twill. Great hand feel/weight overall and lovely colors (using a mix of neutrals: cloud, cream, fawn, shadow, blossom, & daylight)
This was my first adventure with Ode. I was pleasantly surprised. The scarf I wove came off the loom rather stiff and not so soft. But, as weavers always say, the finishing is the key. After I washed the project in cold water on the delicate setting with Eucalan it came out soft and beautiful. Just like the picture. The only thing is that it is very warm so I’m waiting for another cold day to give it a try. Oh, and I love the color. I’m looking forward to doing this project again with some of the other suggested colors.
Ode Alpaca is a joy to work with, it is both luxurious and strong. It drapes beautifully in shawls, wraps, and scarves. Whatever project you use it for will draw oohs and aaahs.
This is wonderful alpaca yarn. It is easy to weave and produces a very soft and warm product. I made a small blanket and it turned out so nice! I definitely will use it again.
