I wanted linen yarn because I want longevity in my weavings. I love how linen feels in a towel or a napkin, especially after a few years. Unfortunately, cotton just doesn’t wear well over time. I’m also experimenting with hemp for the same reason.
These linen yarns and the duet are beautiful and I can’t wait to weave with them. Right now I just look at the them with longing and get my loom empty.
Haven't used it yet (it's in line), but the yarn itself is beautiful. I don't think the website pix do it justice. It reads to me as having a tiny bit of slub - just enough to give it some extra interest. Also looks like it'll be very easy dress the loom.
I wove some dish towels and was disappointed at how stiff they were, even after washing. Maybe they will soften after repeated washings?
This linben by Gist is just as wonderful as all thweier other yarns! A dream to weave.
I love weaving with this linen, but I only use the natural colors since the colored linen is not colorfast and since I weave mostly dish towels, I feel they need to be washed in warm water. (I’ve been told that the color won’t run if you wash in cold water, but I personally have not tried that out.
