Learn to Weave Rigid Heddle: A Loom + Your First 3 Projects

This three-pattern kit, along with the Ashford Rigid Heddle Loom 24" is a perfect way to get started in weaving. My interest in weaving has been simmering for over a year, and luckily I happened on this loom and pattern bundle, along with a super helpful phone call from Gist providing excellent guidance (and mentioning Deborah Jarchow's instruction on Craftsy which was a big help for first-time warping). The loom assembly instructions were straightforward and gave me confidence in understanding the loom itself. Getting started weaving, in order with the scarf and then towels, the pattern instructions were clear and concise, allowing me to develop skill while enjoying the process. Gist does a truly superior job in getting a person acquainted with weaving with enough structure, while providing an expert resource for questions. I decided to improvise a bit with a second set of towels before completing the third introductory project. Now I've placed my second order of supplies and have a comfortable path forward to learn more and, most importantly, enjoy more weaving! Thanks Gist for making my entry to weaving such a pleasure!

I am a brand new weaver but I have knitted and sewn for 25 years, so I am no stranger to following instructions. The loom went together easily and is so fun to use! Warping is a ton of work but I was led to expect that. I haven’t yet made the houndstooth scarf because the kit came with 2 shuttles but the scarf requires 3. I can’t figure out where I can just get another ashford stick shuttle. I am not quite ready to spring for a boat shuttle but maybe I will have to. The other two projects wove very nicely and I am thrilled with such good results my first time. I am so excited to make more. Thank you Gist!!!
