Block Baby Blanket
Designed by Emma ShepherdThis color-blocked cotton blanket is woven as two panels on one long warp, which are then sewn together selvedge-to-selvedge. Decorative stitches are sewn by hand along the seam for a final touch. This project is designed with a rigid heddle loom in mind, but can just as easily be woven on a multi-shaft loom. Order a kit.
I got the pattern to make a blanket for my future first grandson. It was very easy to follow the pattern and the blanket came out beautiful!
I wove two of these, one in blue and one in pink. The project was straightforward and enjoyable - mindful weaving. :)
They both washed up nicely and are soft and very pretty. I added some stripes, irregularly on both blankets.
I so enjoyed weaving this blanket for my new grandson Fisher (note the embroidery). The pattern was simple and easy to follow. Using Mallo was a bonus as it is my favorite 100% cotton yarn. Gets softer with each washing.
