Light & Lacy Alpaca Scarf

Very clear pattern, my first using pickup sticks. I got distracted (by a chatty 9yo) and mixed up the sequence in one section, but who will notice? Soft, light scarf, and once warped, took off quickly! The Ode alpaca in Blush is beautiful and soft.

This pattern is very easy to follow. The instructions are clear, and the technique is within reach of any seasoned beginner and beyond. As a spinner and weaver, I took the opportunity to use my hand-spun Alpaca in the weft (it's not quite reliable enough to use in the warp) and warped the loom with Ode in Shadow. I'm not quite done, but so far it's turning out absolutely lovely. I really like the Ode yarn, and it's exciting to use my own hand-spun! Christina Jablonski's patterns are clear and inventive, and I can't wait to wrap myself in this this super-soft scarf!

I just finished weaving this scarf. I made it narrower than the pattern said. The Ode to Alpaca Yarn is so soft and the color blush so heavenly. The scarf has a beautiful drape. Although my pattern didn’t come out quite the way as in the picture. It still is a very nice scarf. I just didn’t beat the groupings hard enough. It was an easy pattern to do because it had a rhythm to it. I’m pretty happy with it.

I have not woven this scarf yet but the pattern is very easy to understand and it uses a pick-up stick. I love patterns with pick-up sticks and I'm looking forward to getting started. Ode Alpaca is such a beautiful yarn to weave with, it is so soft and the colors are lovely. For this scarf I'm going to use Blossom which is a soft pink. I can't wait to get started!
