Light & Lacy Alpaca Scarf
Designed by Christine Jablonski
This simple pick-up stick pattern creates an elegant ribbed lace scarf that will have you looking forward to winter. The key to weaving this project is a light beat, which brings out the softness of this lofty alpaca yarn. Order a kit.
I have just started weaving this scarf with 3 shades of gray Alpaca wool brought from Peru. Since the pattern does not show up on the darker weft areas, I am only doing the pattern in the light wool but the darker shades are plain weave. So far, it looks very nice.
People are wowed by what looks like a complicated lace scarf. The pattern is very easy to follow and goes quickly. And, Ode is so soft! I made one for a friend in Daylight and now another for me in Fawn.
Beautiful Lacey pattern of Alpaca Wool. I used the Iris yarn. Rich and subtle weave and color variation
Very clear pattern, my first using pickup sticks. I got distracted (by a chatty 9yo) and mixed up the sequence in one section, but who will notice? Soft, light scarf, and once warped, took off quickly! The Ode alpaca in Blush is beautiful and soft.
