Wider and longer than the average scarf, this snuggly alpaca project could pull double duty as a small blanket. Weave in two high-contrast colors to emphasize the Color-and-Weave patterning, or go low-contrast for a more subtle effect.
Pattern downloads include files for both rigid heddle and shaft loom weaving. Yardage requirements vary based upon the loom waste. Order a kit.
Wow! This scarf is luxuriously sized. I was so enraptured by the vibrant colors and interesting pattern I didn't even notice when I ordered the kit that the weaving width was greater than my 24" loom. I simply subtracted 5 pattern repeats from the middle section and it's still an ample size. I've never used such a soft alpaca yarn before, and the finished fabric is so plush and velvety. The colors are rich and work well together, showing off the fun mix of patterns. It's a very special and dramatic finished piece.
