M's and O's Towels

These soft and textured towels are woven in a variation of the two-block M’s and O’s structure, with three-unit rib sections curving gently around areas of plain weave to form circular motifs. Alternating blocks of solid and mixed colors in the warp and weft create painterly gradients of yellow and blue tones, evoking the glow of the sun in the summer sky. Order a kit.

For the life of me, I don’t see how u get 225 threads in this pattern. I e counted and recounted many times and it doesn’t make sense. Would love some help

This is just my opinion, but I found the resulting "towel" to be way to heavy, as well as too narrow. There was plenty of fiber to make more than two towels, so I made three. Due to the heaviness of the final fabric, they would have made great placemats, but I only had three long, narrow towels. There would have been plenty of length for 4 placemats though, so think about what you want from this project. Not sure that this structure is the best use of the cotton slub. Consequently, I have no opinion of the fiber as I was so disappointed by the final results.
I thoroughly enjoyed this project. It was my first time working with Mallo (won't be my last) and my first time working with two shuttles. The towels wove quickly and look great after wet finishing. I used Denim, Icicle, and Steel colors. The Steel looks a little warm-colored in the photo due to the evening sunlight, but are definitely light grey in reality.

Currently hemming my towels. I can't say how much I love them, both the pattern and the yarn. They are are to be a gift, so maybe I need to make a set for myself.
