            Ocean Waves Wall Hanging

            This reversible wall hanging explores the Doubleweave technique, where two layers are woven at the same time. In this pattern, each layer of balanced Plain Weave consists of a gradient of colors ranging from dark to light in the warp. Combined with the interchange of the top and bottom layers at different intervals, the pattern emulates the ebb and flow of the ocean waves. Order a kit.

            Please note this pattern cannot be woven on a countermarche loom without significant adaptation.

            • 4-shaft loom
            • 120 heddles per shaft
            • 8-dent reed
            • 2 boat shuttles + bobbins

            • 15.5” dowel rod for hanging

            Yarn

            Warp: Array Wool, 125 yds Ocean-4, 140 yds Sapphire-2, 125 yds Indigo-1, 125 yds Cinnamon-1, 140 yds Marigold-1, 125 yds Daffodil-3.

            Weft: Array Wool, 210 yds Indigo-1, 210 yds Cinnamon-1.

            Lovely pattern!

            What a beautiful pattern. I am intrigued with double weave to begin with, and this is a lovely use of it. I am also thinking that once I finish weaving the wall hanging, I can use the pattern to make a rug (using rug yarns, of course), as it is intriguing and the double thickness makes a great sturdy rug. Thank you, Christine, for your design.
