    Aurora Scarf

    Designed by Katie Strano

    This mesmerizing scarf was inspired by Katie Strano's experience of seeing the Aurora Borealis. Ode and Sero are combined in a lush Deflected Doubleweave to invoke the magic of the Aurora, and the bold pattern woven in a grid shifts and curves when taken off the loom and wet-finished, much like the amazing, atmospheric light display.     Equipment

    • 8-shaft table or floor loom
    • 12-40 heddles per shaft
    • 12-dent reed
    • 3 boat shuttles + bobbins

    Warp: Ode Alpaca, 355 yds Iris, 260 yds Daylight. Sero Silk Noil, 80 yds Peacock.

     Weft:Ode Alpaca, 255 yds Iris, 190 yds Daylight. Sero Silk Noil, 65 yds Peacock.
