Beam is a foundational yarn—perfect for beginners learning to weave on a rigid heddle loom, but experienced weavers will also find it delightful for twills and color work on a multi-shaft loom. Beam’s bright, cheerful colors make it a natural choice for baby blankets, kitchen towels, placemats, napkins and runners. Soft but strong, this yarn was designed for making functional cloth you reach for every day.
I use Beam repeatedly and find consistent quality. Pacific is one of my favorite colors and it is a nice compliment to many of the other colors. I’m currently weaving placemats on my rigid heddle loom, but also like it for towels.
It’s a great yarn. I used it in my dish towels with other yarns (8/2, 8/4). I’m not finished the towel yet, but so far it looks like a great addition for color and compatibility to the other yarns. Jam 3/2 is a beautiful and very striking color.
Wove 8 placemats in turned twill 16 epi. Used Beam in warp and weft. Quick weave and fun colors.
I used this yarn in a houndstooth scarf. Easy to work with and the finished scarf has lovely drape after wet finishing. I will use it again!
I love Beam yarn for so many reasons! First it is beautiful and soft to the touch. It is sturdy enough for towels and runners and I have even used it on my Inkle loom. It is a go to yarn for so many projects!
