Rippling Diamonds Scarf

Designed by Sue Anne Sullivan

Diamonds and ripples are woven throughout this silk scarf by threading for two variations of Twill amongst colorful warp stripes. Once the loom is set up, a simple and repetitive treadling sequence with a one-color weft makes this a satisfyingly quick project. The soft drape of Sero Silk Noil results in a scarf that is can be both lightweight and cozy, depending on the season. Order a kit.

Note: This pattern uses the entire cone of Aloe. If your beat is firmer than 18 ppi you will need an additional cone.

Beautiful pattern but not enough yarn for weft

I really enjoy this pattern and the beautiful silk yarn. Unfortunately I ran out of weft yarn after 49 inches of weaving. I would recommend to include 2 cones of Sero Silk Noil Aloe in the kit.

Great pattern and I LOVE the silk!!

This was my first time working with silk and I loved it. This pattern was really easy to read and the scarf turned out beautifully! I definitely want to work with this silk more!! It was so easy to use and the feel and the drape are-as we used to say-to die for!! lol!!

GLORIOUS

This pattern turned out so beautiful that I have to make another one.
I have since learned to use sponge hair rollers, separating a clump of yarn at a time. Keeps the tangles to a minimum.

cool design, yarn hard to deal with

Once you get your loom warped, many hours later, the designs are gorgeous and easy to weave.
The yarn was my problem the slubs from the silk noil tangle terribly. I still have trouble with "indirect warping" getting tangled up but it was way worse with the slubs catching. Not sure I would bother with this yarn again. I will have to see how much I like it when finished.
