Overshot Towel

I bought the kit for this project and loved them so much I wanted to make them again. I decided I wanted a larger towel so I added additional repeats to both length and width. I also selected another color way using Brick and Clay Mallow and Marble duet. They wear really well and just keep getting softer with use.

Pretty towel

I just finished weaving the Overshot Rigid Heddle Towel. I used left over yarn from another project so I only wove one towel. The towel measured 11” x 22” after wet finishing and throwing it in the dryer. I’m very happy with it, I think it’s a pretty little towel. I used steel and natural Mallo and sun Duet. It’s not a very big towel compared to others I’ve woven but it’s fine for a hand towel. It was fun to weave and I plan on doing more. There were a couple of things that confused me with this pattern but after watching Christine’s weave-along video online I was good to go. The video was very helpful, also looking at the picture with the pattern helped too. Be aware that pick number 4 covers up pick number 3 when you beat it. The video also showed how to correctly carry the thread when changing colors. All very helpful. I wish all patterns came with a video!
